Stephen (Steve) Stimson joined the Army in September of 1983 and retired in October of 2003 after 20 years of service. After retiring he become a GS Employee at Creighton University Army ROTC as the Human Resource Assistant and has served in this Capacity for the past 21 years at a combined 3 different ROTC Schools and 2 different ROTC Brigades.
Initially joined the Army as part of the first ever Airborne Package Platoon where a group of us went through Basic, AIT and Airborne School together. Basic and AIT for our package platoon was at Fort Jackson, SC then to Ft Benning, GA for Airborne School after Airborne School a majority of use got assignments to the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC. I spent 3 years at Bragg before getting assignment orders to 1st Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group in Okinawa, Japan, earned my Jumpmaster qualification during my time in Okinawa, and also passed the Pre SFQC training. Along with picking up the SQI S identifier for special operations.
In November of 1998 I went to Fort Sill, OK to reclassify to 13F Fire Support Specialist Course with a follow on assignment to 3/6 Field Artillery 10th Mountain Division.
Steve has 1 one Daughter (Melissa) and 2 Grandkids (Nicholas and Bria)
